Running diagonal to the city's grid, Milwaukee Avenue existed long before the city of Chicago did. Even though this part of Milwaukee Avenue is destined to turn into Chicago's "next hot neighborhood," The Milwaukee Avenue Alliance is focused on building relationships to holistically revitalize our main street's cultural, social, and economic ecosystem for us and by us.

The Milwaukee Avenue Alliance focuses on building relationships between the people and economic forces at play on Milwaukee Avenue between Kimball and Central Park. We believe that this "real Chicago" neighborhood and shopping district is an ecosystem, not just buildings that happen to be next to each other. We know that the scale and character of our 100-year old built environment embodies the heritage of mom-and-pop entrepreneurs, individual property ownership, and local employers - all of which are essential to a culturally diverse, prosperous and livable 21st century urban village. By working together and providing assistance to artists and entrepreneurs we hope to bring prosperity and promise back to our neighborhood.
